Meet your new Best Furriend
Why adopt from Lucky Little Paws?
Health Checked
Our cats are thoroughly health checked, desexed, up-to-date with vaccines, and microchipped before adoption.
Foster Based
Many of our cats live in foster homes, allowing us to understand their personalities and help find the right match.
Lifetime Commitment
We care deeply about every cat we rescue and are committed to helping them find loving, permanent homes.
Adoption Saves Lives
When one cat finds a home, it creates space for another cat in need to enter our rescue.

Adopting is one of the best things you can do.
Every cat deserves a safe, loving home where they can be cherished for life.
At Lucky Little Paws, each of our cats has their own personality, story and journey. Whether you're looking for a playful kitten, a gentle senior or a quiet companion, we'd love to help you find the right match.
Every adoption changes two lives - the cat who finds a forever home, and the next cat we are able to rescue in their place.
Our Adoption Process
We want every adoption to be a happy and lasting one—for both you and your new feline companion. Our adoption process is designed to help us find the best match for each cat and every family.

Questions About Adopting
-
Adding a cat to your family is a wonderful commitment, and we want every adoption to be a lasting one.
Before applying, it's worth considering:
Can you provide a safe, loving home for the next 15–20 years?
Have you considered the ongoing costs of food, litter and veterinary care?
Is everyone in your household ready to welcome a new family member?
Can you provide enrichment, companionship and time to help your cat settle in?
If you're unsure which cat might suit your lifestyle, we're always happy to help.
-
Yes. At Lucky Little Paws, all of our cats are adopted as indoor-only pets, or into homes with a safe, secure outdoor enclosure (often called a catio) or enclosed outdoor space.
Keeping cats safely contained protects them from traffic, disease, poisoning, dog attacks and other hazards, while also helping to protect our native wildlife.
We understand that every home is different, and we're happy to chat with you about ways to provide your cat with a stimulating, enriched indoor environment. Many cats also enjoy supervised outdoor time in a secure enclosure or while wearing a harness.
Our goal is to help every cat live a long, healthy and happy life in a safe environment.
-
Our adoption fee helps cover a portion of the care each cat receives while in rescue. Before going to their new home, our cats are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated (where age appropriate), treated for fleas and worms, and given a health check by a veterinarian.
The fee also helps us continue rescuing and caring for other cats in need. Every adoption makes room for another life to be saved.
-
Absolutely. We want both you and the cat to feel confident that it's the right match.
If your application is suitable, we'll arrange a meet-and-greet so you can spend some time getting to know each other. Our team can also answer any questions and help you decide if the cat is the right fit for your home and lifestyle.
-
Yes, many of our cats happily live with families and children.
Every cat has a unique personality, so we'll work with you to find one that suits your household. Some cats enjoy busy family life, while others prefer a quieter environment. Our goal is to make successful, lifelong matches for both our cats and their new families.
-
Yes. We regularly adopt cats into rental properties.
We'll simply ask that you have permission from your landlord or property manager to keep a cat before the adoption is finalised. Ensuring your new companion is welcome in your home helps set everyone up for success.
-
Many of our cats successfully join homes with existing cats or even cat-friendly dogs.
We'll talk with you about your current pets and recommend a cat whose personality and needs are likely to suit your household. Introducing pets takes time and patience, and we're happy to provide guidance to help make the transition as smooth as possible.
-
We understand that sometimes, despite everyone's best intentions, an adoption may not be the right fit.
If you're experiencing difficulties or a change in circumstance, we encourage you to contact us first. Our team may be able to offer advice and support to help resolve any issues.
If it's clear that the placement isn't working, we ask that the cat be returned to Lucky Little Paws rather than being rehomed privately. Every cat remains part of our rescue family, and we're committed to ensuring they continue their journey to the right forever home.
